Gametable Public BETA Now Open! : OK, I have opened the Gaming Center for public beta testing now. I would recommend not using it for an ultra-pivotal campaign battle without keeping track of the board manually... at least until any major kinks in the map saving are isolated and worked out. One last battle to hold the line against the night... : Just an update on this, since I just added a blinky-link without commenting on what the heck I am doing... The B5Wars.net Gametable is being beta tested right now by my local B5Wars play group, which has not been able to get together physically for quite some time due to "real life^TM". After I get a few games played through and get any obvious clunkers of bugs taken care of, we will open the Gametable up for general use. Aside from the racial ship silhouette counters and names, there is ZERO BABYLON 5 WARS GAME LOGIC in the B5Wars.net Gametable. The intent is to provide a persistent, online hexmap for people who own and already know the game. Babylon 5 Wars continues to be a trademark of Warner Bros Entertainment. Offering any more of the game logic built into to the application risks infringing on that trademark, so we just are NOT gonna go there. In short, if you play B5Wars, and you do not own it, BUY IT! There are still copies out there that can be bought (new and used) if you look in the right places. My intent is that the Gametable will be yet another free service offering that B5Wars.net provides to keep the game alive... "One last battle to hold the line against the night", as it were. If/when usage ramps up to the point that by hosting solution cannot support it, that could change, but that is not the plan. I will update when we get closer to wider availability (hoping a week or two from now). - BogoMIPS
